Project Introduction
Hong Kong Comics and Culture Exhibition
Organised by the Hong Kong Comics and Animation Federation (HKCAF) and lead sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the “Hong Kong Comics and Culture Exhibition” will be staged at Starfield Hanam in Seoul, Korea, from 27 September to 9 October 2025. The exhibition will feature 19 Hong Kong comic artists, showcasing over 100 works to promote Hong Kong’s vibrant comics industry and talented artists to overseas audiences. In addition, two Korean comic artists are invited to participate, fostering cultural exchange between Hong Kong and Korea.
Tracing the evolution of Hong Kong comics from their origins in the 1960s to the works of today’s most influential creators, the exhibition highlights the rise of unique local styles. Divided into four thematic zones — Cross-over Creativity, Unconventional Leaps, Everyday Laughters, and Beyond the Heroes. The exhibition invites Korean audiences, comic lovers, and the general public to immerse themselves in the rich history and fascinating universe of Hong Kong comics.
This exhibition is one of the programmes/contribution programmes of “Hong Kong Week 2025@Seoul”. Hong Kong Week is an annual arts festival organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, celebrating Hong Kong’s creative excellence worldwide and fostering cultural exchange and artistic collaboration.
