Over the years, Hong Kong comic artists, with their extraordinary creativity and exquisite craftsmanship, have created countless classic works and iconic characters that have exerted a profound influence in Hong Kong, across Asia, and throughout Chinese-speaking communities worldwide. Hong Kong’s unique comic culture has touched generations of readers and continues to flourish to this day.

With the support of the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), the Hong Kong Comics and Animation Federation (HKCAF) is honored to present the Hong Kong Comics and Culture Exhibition as a programme of “Hong Kong Week 2025 @ Seoul.” As one of Asia’s international metropolises, Hong Kong has a solid creative foundation. Beyond its representative works of martial arts and humour comics, a new generation of comic talents has emerged in recent years, achieving remarkable success. Many works have been licensed for overseas markets, translated into different languages, and even honored with international awards. Moreover, beloved comics have expanded into other creative domains, inspiring stage dramas, martial arts dance productions, and films, further demonstrating the versatility and potential of comics.

This exhibition features works by 19 Hong Kong comic artists, alongside 2 guest artists from Korea. We believe comics transcend language, age, and geography, and they serve as a meaningful bridge between Hong Kong and Korea.

Through this exhibition, we hope to showcase the creativity and culture of Hong Kong comics, offering Korean audiences an immersive and diverse experience that highlights the unique charm of Hong Kong comics, while fostering closer artistic and cultural exchange and collaboration between the two regions.
