Mr. KHOO Fuk-Lung, James

KHOO Fuk-Lung, James began his career in comics in 1978, producing covers and colour artwork for Oriental Heroes, Buddha’s Palm and Drunken Fist. In 1989 he released his first solo work, Iron Marshal.

In 1992, he co-founded Teng Lung Publishing and launched Dragon Lord, which achieved record-breaking sales for a hardback edition.

In 1993, Wong Chun Loong, Tony established Jade Dynasty Publications Ltd and invited Khoo to serve as Art Director. His projects included The Legendary Emperor, New Oriental Heroes, New Dragon Lord, Little Magic God, Weapons of the Gods and The Great Sage. He also became the first Hong Kong comic artist to be officially recognised by a Japanese company, which authorised him to adapt Ultraman Tiga.

In 2007, Khoo founded Fuk Lung Animation & Comics Ltd, producing titles such as Weapons of the Gods 4, The 8th Shaolin Bronze Man and Kung Fu.

In 2012, he established DARK Comics & Toys Ltd, publishing New Iron Marshal.

In 2014, Khoo received the “Top Ten Outstanding Designer” award from the Hong Kong Chuanyi Centre.

In 2016, he launched Chronicles of the Immortal Swordsmen on the online platform Manben.

In 2023, he released the science fiction comic Tiger Armor Man, which brought new energy to the Hong Kong comics scene.
